All MAISON MAGDALENA pieces are made to order, reducing excessive production to zero. We are also dedicated to promoting responsible consumption by developing garments that are seasonless, versatile, durable, and that are executed in high-quality materials and a timeless colour palette. We believe our designs age gracefully and can be worn season after season, year after year.
THE FIBERS WE CHOOSE
Our environmental commitment extends to the the fabrics we use. We aim to avoid the conventional and synthetic materials produced through chemical processes. Instead, we work with natural fibres derived from renewable resources, which are biodegradable when grown and manufactured under the right conditions. We prioritise high-quality mono fibres, which simplify the recycling process. If synthetic compositions are necessary for function – for example, stretch or waterproof properties – we use recycled and deadstock fabrics.
NATURE'S PALETTE
Some of our garments are made by naturally dying the fabric with plants. This manual technique is used on 100% natural silk and reveals the texture of the fabric by creating colour variations and irregularities, giving each piece a unique look. We are committed to creating long-term partnerships with local suppliers and artisans. Our main partners are based in Romania and are carefully selected to adhere to our sustainability standards. A local supply chain means lower transport emissions, fair livelihoods for skilled makers, and tight quality control.
